My love for storytelling began well before I even attended kindergarten. However, I always thought of writing as a hobby that only a select few were lucky enough to turn into a lucrative career. As fate would have it, my attempt to go the “practical route” resulted in me earning two degrees with no guarantee of a steady income. So what did I do? I relied on the one thing that had been consistent throughout my life: my ability to tell a story and to tell it well.
Since then, I’ve connected with hundreds of aspiring writers, artists, and entrepreneurs across the world, using the power of words to bring their visions to life. Now a freelance writer turned copywriter, editor, and book coach, I spend my days coaching people on how to reflect their best selves in everything they do as the CEO of MasterPieces Writing and Editing LLC. But before I could do that, I had to uncover my best self, which birthed this blog and my upcoming book.
I created the Confessions of a Good Girl blog to give voice to the beautiful parts of me that had been buried under the false perceptions of others. I desired to uncover the love, joy, and peace that had been replaced with brokenness, unhappiness, and fear, realizing my gift of writing would help me do so.
Even though the idea for the book came first, I couldn’t remain silent as I waited to finish the manuscript. I picked up my phone in March 2020, the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and posted my first video on YouTube. After a few more videos, I created the Confessions of a Good Girl YouTube channel. And now, five years later, we’re here.
I truly believe confession is good for the soul. The more I confess, the more I heal. The more I learn God’s purpose for me. And the more I’m willing to help you all do the same.
